Welcome! This site holds an online journal, a photo gallery, information about me which I'd love to share with everyone who is interested.

I fell in love with writing in High School. I love the process of story-telling, sharing bits of my life, and creating an experience with words and pictures. I absolutely love the fact that this site is MINE and I can control everything about it - from what it looks like, to what I say (bursts into a sinister laugh).

I write about my daily adventures - as a mother of a teenager, as a partner to my actor/director boy-friend, as a young woman enjoying the fullness of life, as a girly-girl who loves to shop, and a dancer who still dreams to perform with Madonna.

I like to write about my life, a few brazen thoughts here and there, and finding inspiration and happiness in the small simple pleasures of life. Ok...with the, extravagant and luxurious ones too!

Movie Marthon

It has been a movie week for me. Whether it may be at the theatre or at home (original dvd copies, of course). And here are my reviews:

The Aviator: Bleagh. I found it too dragging and a tad too long. Maybe I expected too much from Howard Hughes’ biopic, I dunno, all I know is my hana and I fell asleep.
Was it just I or did anyone else perceive that Leonardo was a miscast for Mr. Hughes and that DiCarpio had only one expression on his face most of the time(this somewhat smug look with his eyebrows meeting together)? Cate Blanchett was a perfect choice for Katherine Hepburn though. Couldn’t think of anyone else that could’ve done a better Ms. Hepburn. I personally don’t believe it deserves to win best picture at the Oscar’s today. If Martin Scorsese wins for best director, it would probably be out of pity since he’s always a nominee but never a winner. Sorry Martin, but I don’t think this can be in the list of the best films you’ve ever made.
My Rating: 3

The Manchurian Candidate: Bleagh. Bleagh. Bleagh. Denzel, why oh why did you agree to star in this film?
My Rating: 1

A Series Of Unfortunate Events: This film was quite amusing, in a dark, eerie, unsettling kind of way. After the movie, I actually had the sudden urge to trudge down to the bookstore to buy the other books. Sadly, it was 5 past 9pm and National Bookstore was already closed. Jim Carrey was just right for the part of Count Olaf. His rubbery face and body proved to be very useful in portraying his many disguises. Meryl Streep, ah… not enough positive adjectives in the English dictionary to describe this talented woman. She was as usual, astonishing. ‘Nuff said.
My Rating:
4

House of Flying Daggers: That “Echo Game” scene of Zhang Ziyi was the bomb! I want to learn that type of dance. Now, now, now! The cinematography was breathtaking. The richness in color in every scene completely blew me away. The swift moves in all the fight scenes were speedier than the cars in "The Fast and The Furious"! Dazzling choreography indeed. Zhang Ziyi, even after a good beating, was stunning. Takeshi Kaneshiro, conversely, had this uncanny resemblance to Diether Ocampo. Serously! Hahaha!
My Rating: 4 ½

I’m watching the Oscars now (who isn’t?). I drove my sleepy ass out of bed at 9am to watch this much awaited awards night. I so want Jaime Foxx to win best Actor! Let’s see…
