A Long and Eventful Day

Charlie’s Birthday - I’ve never seen so much food at a children’s party. There was a gamut of food booths! Nachos, mini burgers, crispy crepes, waffles, sushi, ice cream, shawarma, and so much more. The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed party was, of course, a big hit to the young and old. Happy 1st birthday my dear inaanak! Our 5th Year Anniversary - My hana and I really didn’t plan anything that special for this momentous day, so while we were at Charlie’s party, with a Filipino restaurants guide book in hand, we looked for a resto for a romanic dinner. And Chef Laudico’s was perfect for it! The cozy ambiance (situated in makati and a "reservations only" resto), the great service and wonderful, wonderful food (costs an arm and a leg, but worth it) made our anniversary a most memorable one. I can still taste the food in my mouth. It was a 6 course meal. After taking our first bite from every course, hana and I would go, “mmmmm...”, close our eye for 2 seconds, and look at each other, wide-eyed and speechless. Here’s what we had... Appetizer: Sweet Potato Croquette stuffed with Foie Gras topped With raspberry Sauce and Crisp Bacon Soup: Shitake Mushroom Puree with Truffle Oil Salad: Seasonal Salad Greens tossed in Garlic Balsamic Vinaigrette topped with Fresh Mushroom Saute Frozen Pomelo Shooter Mains: Tarragon Spiced Lapu-lapu Fillet Baked in banana Leaf Served with Crab Roe Cream and Pan Seared US Angus Rib Eye Steak with Porcini Sauce Both served with Risoni Pasta tossed in Herbs and Seasonal Vegetables Dessert: Molten Belgian Chocolate Cake drizzled with Kahlua Flambe  Hungry yet?... We were too busy eating, we forgot to take pictures! Maybe because I was too stuffed to eat already! My hana could barely breathe! Haven’t had great food like this in a while. Burp! Happy 5th Year Anniversary Hana! I Thank God everyday for bringing you to me. Erik and Reema’s Housewarming - Reema finally gets a shot at decorating her own home. Finally she moves out of her BF home. Finally she finds the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with. It was so nice to see everyone from the mengsters to the frisbee peeps we used to hangout with. Talked about how we all loved MAC, Cayo’s love problem, Candy’s trip to Greece and Turkey, and traveling to different parts of the world. I fell asleep thinking of 2 things: 1. How much superb food, great company, and glorious occasions can make a day so unforgettable. 2. I can’t wait to go to Greece!
