Welcome! This site holds an online journal, a photo gallery, information about me which I'd love to share with everyone who is interested.

I fell in love with writing in High School. I love the process of story-telling, sharing bits of my life, and creating an experience with words and pictures. I absolutely love the fact that this site is MINE and I can control everything about it - from what it looks like, to what I say (bursts into a sinister laugh).

I write about my daily adventures - as a mother of a teenager, as a partner to my actor/director boy-friend, as a young woman enjoying the fullness of life, as a girly-girl who loves to shop, and a dancer who still dreams to perform with Madonna.

I like to write about my life, a few brazen thoughts here and there, and finding inspiration and happiness in the small simple pleasures of life. Ok...with the, extravagant and luxurious ones too!

A Tale of Two Shows

I'm baaaaack....

Maharlika Dance Company's 25th Anniversary Show

We arrived in Davao at the break of dawn last Friday. A glittered banner welcomed us. It was so sweet of the local troupe, noh?

After checking in at the Apo View Hotel, we slept for just about an hour and a half then we headed to the school's stage to block our dance. After that, we drifted off to a much needed deep REM sleep for about 4 hours. Woke up at exactly 5pm to put on our make-up and get ourselves ready for our first show.

James, one of our male dancers, made a mistake of bringing with him the costume for the female dancer. That really cracked us up. In fact, we even called the other dancers back in Manila just to tell them about this big, funny booboo!(check out the "text of the week" on my sidebar) Here's a pic. He's the one on the left side. The one on the right is Ken, the smarter guy wearing the right costume. See the difference? Hahaha! You're the best James!

"...the molders of the Maharlika Dance Troupe...please welcome, the Hotlegs!", the emcee mused. We weren't prepared for what we heard, it was the loudest welcoming cheer we've ever received! The audience were screaming wildly as if Tom Cruise stepped on stage. For a couple of seconds we got thrown off with our counting as we entered from the wings of stage left. What an awesome crowd! We never knew we were this popular. During our second show the next day, people were asking for autographs, to have their posters signed and to have their pictures taken with us. This is too surreal!!!

First flight out was at 7:30am and we went straight to Araneta for the Ford Focus launch right before the UAAP DLSU-Ateneo game.

FORD FOCUS LAUNCH

We got there at 9am but didn't perform 'til about 4pm! Geesh, I wanted to go home so badly already. Thanks God my hana stayed with me the whole time.

Just as we feared, when our music started playing we couldn't hear a damn thing! The loud screams of the Ateneans and La Sallites resonated around the jam-packed coliseum thus drowning our music. Our dance depended on musical cues but since that wasn't possible, we just relied on gut feel and a miracle from God. We weren't sure how we were able to pull it off, really. I guess at that point I couldn't care less. I was just glad that this long weekend was over.

Although I was tired, my hana and I still managed to go to Gateway Mall. I'm never too tired for a bit of shopping. Hahaha! :) It's definitely my catharsis! :)
