Welcome! This site holds an online journal, a photo gallery, information about me which I'd love to share with everyone who is interested.

I fell in love with writing in High School. I love the process of story-telling, sharing bits of my life, and creating an experience with words and pictures. I absolutely love the fact that this site is MINE and I can control everything about it - from what it looks like, to what I say (bursts into a sinister laugh).

I write about my daily adventures - as a mother of a teenager, as a partner to my actor/director boy-friend, as a young woman enjoying the fullness of life, as a girly-girl who loves to shop, and a dancer who still dreams to perform with Madonna.

I like to write about my life, a few brazen thoughts here and there, and finding inspiration and happiness in the small simple pleasures of life. Ok...with the, extravagant and luxurious ones too!

Blast from the Past

I’ve always had this fascination for the era when Mowtown and Disco were born…

The fashion – hot pants, striped knee high socks, boa feathers, mood rings, bell-bottoms (ok maybe not that), shiny satin shirts with big collars. So much color that even Rainbow Brite won’t be able to handle.

The Music – Gloria Gaynor’s, "I will Survive"; Diana Ross’, "Ain’t No Mountain High Enough"; Stevie Wonder’s, "Uptight (Everything's Alright)". The Supreme’s, "Stop! In the Name of Love", and all the great songs from the queen of disco, Donna Summer.

The 70’s slang – "Foxy", "groovy","mellow out", "far out man!"

The fad - lava lamps ,the peace signsand smileys.

I was able to experience at least some of those things last night when I accompanied my hana to this show, Mowtown in Motion at the Fort. Celebrities and other artists came together for a benefit for “Bantay Kalikasan” (Nature Watch). The stage was that of a seventies dance show like, Soul Train. Complete with cages for the dancers! The artists, band, and including most of the guests were all decked out in 70’s fashion. It was a blast! And I hated the fact that I wasn’t clad in my 70’s glam outfit. *sigh*. Had I only known. I would’ve given Tessa Prieto-Valdez (in a glittery gossamer dress ensemble with matching afro wig) a run for her money. But then again, who can ever out-dress that super fab (not to mention super nice) woman.

70’s music made everyone feel nostalgic. No one wanted to stop dancing even when the show was over. Me included. I just love this era’s sound. Don’t you?

Cheap thrills of last night:

Even if I work with, and I'm constantly around celebrities in my profession, I still do get thrilled in their presence. Well, at least once in a while. I could never get used to being around Gary V. (yeah, even if I see him every Sunday) and I can’t imagine how anyone can look at him as some ordinary person. He’s so gifted, he may not be human!

Christopher De Leon would be the other. I find myself either at a loss for words, stuttering and stammering, or simply staring at him like some starstruck fan . And mind you, am not exactly what you call a diffident, soft-spoken person.

Oh well, let’s just sing shall we? (If you don't hear the music playing, just hit play on the music selector located in my sidebar). Enjoy!

Listen, baby
Ain't no mountain high
Ain't no valley low
Ain't no river wide enough, baby
If you need me, call me
No matter where you are
No matter how far
Just call my name
I'll be there in a hurry
You don't have to worry
'Cause baby,

There ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you

Remember the day
I set you free
I told you
You could always count on me
From that day on I made a vow
I'll be there when you want me
Some way,some how
'Cause baby,

There ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough

No wind, no rain
My love is alive
Way down in my heart
Although we are miles apart
If you ever need a helping hand
I'll be there on the double
As fast as I can
Don't you know that

There ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you

Don't you know that
There ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
